Enrolment Age/Duration:
• Primary school 6 years; Six years duration;
• Secondary - two tiers: Junior secondary –
3 years; Senior secondary – 3years; Tertiary Education:
Colleges of Education, Science and Technology, Polytechnics
and Universities.
Admission Process: Central admission through
the Joint Matriculation Admission Board (JAMB), for
all intending undergraduates to Nigerian Universities,
whether private or public.
Duration of Programme: Varies per programme,
but generally four years for basic Degree programmes,
without special requirements.
National Policy on Educational: Government
provides educational opportunities for all citizens
at the primary, secondary and. - tertiary levels. Government
places emphasis on quality of education and seeks to
establish nationally, acceptable standards/practices
to ensure even progressive educational development throughout
the country. The country runs the 6-3-3-4 system of
education, designed to cater for individual talents
and capabilities of Nigerian children. After six years
of primary education, the policy introduces at the secondary
level, a 2-tier (3-year junior and 3-year senior secondary)
education scheme which on one hand, offers comprehensive
and core curriculum subjects. While on the other hand
the technically minded or vocationally-inclined follow
courses in other fields.
Unity Schools: Refer to Secondary Schools
run by the Federal Government in all the 36 states of
the Federation to promote national unity.
Tertiary Institutions: Technical Colleges,
Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, and or Universities
established by the Federal and State Governments, religious/corporate
bodies, as well as private individuals throughout the
country.

Sports: Offers enormous attraction
for foreign investors interested in manufacturing Sport
wears and sporting equipment, etc. Major Sporting events
include, Football, Tennis, Handball, Basketball, Golf,
Polo, Athletics, boxing, Swimming, Judo, Paralympics,
